Data Allowance

Internode has the very popular NakedExtreme ADSL2+ which is available at over 100 exchanges which have an Internode DSLAM.

The Internode plans have recently undergone a significant boost! The entry level price is $49.95 and that will give you 5GB of download allowance. The next step up is $59.95 per month for 20GB of downloads (double the previous allowance of 10GB).

There are two big advantages for the Internode  data allowance: 1) you can use it whenever you like – there is no peak or off-peak. 2) Uploads are not counted – it is a download allowance only.

Bundle Deals

Internode is currently offering a great bundle deal with Naked DSL. It is a free VoIP service which includes $10 of call credit each month! This is the NodePhone2-Special plan, which will be selected as the default VoIP plan if you click through from our website to sign up with Internode.

This VoIP plan gives free calls to other NodePhone users and flat rate calls to landlines anywhere in Australia for only 18 cents untimed. Calls to mobiles are 29 cents per minute and many international calls are only 5 cents per minute. Click here for the full list of international call rates.

Contract Options

Internode offers the choice of a 1 month contract with a $129 set up fee or a 24 month contract with a $79 set up fee.

Service and Support

Internode are definitely one of the best when it comes to service and support. Their tech support is based in Australia and is knowledgeable and helpful. It is available from 7.30am until midnight (Adelaide time) 7 days a week.

It is definitely worth looking at getting your hardware from Internode if you need a new modem. On all modems you buy during the sign up process, you get a 24 month fast replacement warranty. If Internode can’t fix your problem remotely, then they’ll send you a pre-configured replacement unit with a return courier bag, so you can return the faulty one to them at their cost!

Freebies

Uploads are free with Internode. They also give 5 free email addresses with free email spam and virus filtering. 50MB of webspace is available for Internode Naked DSL customers. Internode also has ‘Unmetered Content’ which doesn’t count against your download allowance – services like downloading from TiVo, ABC iView and Internode Games.

$10 free credit each month on the NodePhone2-Special VoIP plan is a big winner! Call other NodePhone VoIP users for free.

Static IP and Annex M (for faster uploads) are free on Internode SOHO and Business plans.

Connection Options

You can connect to Internode Naked DSL without an active Telstra landline. If you don’t currently have a landline, please contact us to check which Internode plans you can get in your area, before submitting your order.

At the moment, Internode are not able to transfer your current phone number to their VoIP service. Join our email newsletter to be updated when they introduce this feature.

Summary

Internode customer service ratings are always extremely high, which is proof of their excellent quality, support and value for money. Their Naked DSL plans are easy to understand – only downloads count in your data allowance (uploads are free) and you can use it anytime you want – there are no peak or off peak times. Bundle your Naked DSL with their VoIP plan with $10 free credit each month for a great landline replacement solution.

Pros: $49.95 price, speed is great, VoIP quality, $10 of free VoIP credit monthly, no line rental!!!
Cons: Nothing really
Comments: Really happy with my Internode Naked DSL connection. I’ve had it about 6 months. I’m not a huge user, so $49.95 for 5GB is fine for me.
I needed to change some VoIP settings at the beginning, but once we sorted them out the quality of VoIP has been perfect.
Getting about 12-13Mbps in download speed a bit over 2km from the exchange.

Pros: Great Quality, No speed issues or dripouts
Cons: E-mail support can be slow, but call queues are quite reasonable
Comments: I’ve been an Internode customer for quite a while, and so as soon as I could switch to Naked DSL and ditch Telstra line rental, I did. I love VoIP – the quality is fantastic and I forget that it isn’t a regular phone line. The only downside is that it doesn’t work when the power is out. I’m looking at getting a UPS to fix that, though.
Speed and service are great, and I love the Internode file mirror. And the recent quota increases (I doubled from 10GB to 20GB) represent exceptional value!
Overall Rating: 10
